WHAT ARE WE DOING FOR PARK WARD
PROMOTING SPEEDWATCH
As a local resident and father with children of school age, I am particularly concerned by the speed of cars near schools. I will try to make our roads safer for the residents in Park Ward by pushing for a speed limit of 20mph on certain roads.
Many residents have become frustrated with vehicle speeds in Tunbridge Wells. So, I am happy to support residents with Speedwatch as it is a positive, proactive solution in the effort address issues of speeding in Tunbridge Wells.
SUPPORTING OUR COMMUNITY
I am the owner of Zorba, a local restaurant, and believed it was my duty to support our community, especially the NHS and vaccination centres in Tunbridge Wells during the midst of the pandemic.
It was a pleasure to donate thousands of meals to the courageous staff of these establishments.
We also donated to vulnerable members of our community who needed our help. I feel that supporting members of our community is paramount for our society in times of such uncertainty.
PROTECTING GREEN SPACES
I treasure our local parks and believe they should be looked after for future generations. I would like to see more trees planted in Tunbridge Wells to reduce flooding, store carbon and provide habitat for local wildlife.
I would work towards bringing wildlife to our aptly worded ward, Park Ward, by establishing more bird boxes and hedgehog homes. Protecting and enhancing our green spaces to ensure everyone in Park Ward has access to nature is paramount.
I support Plan Bee, a Conservative initiative, which is vital in helping these pollinators, by establishing wildflower verges around Park Ward.
CARING FOR OUR TOWN
I care deeply for this town and its residents. As an established local business owner over the past 14 years, I believe that the residents deserve to have the best and most vibrant town centre.
I have worked extremely hard to make my businesses a success, and this is the same attitude I will endeavour to use in making Tunbridge Wells town a happy, busy and dynamic place to be.
I will propose regular events, encourage new businesses to invest in the town, and listen to the public and business owners for their ideas in bringing this about.
ENCOURAGING OUR YOUTH
I am passionate about the welfare of the youth in Tunbridge Wells and, having spoken to parents, am aware there is a lack of safe spaces for them.
The youth across Tunbridge Wells need to have places that are welcoming, friendly, safe and appealing as well as age specific.
I aim to engage with youth groups on a regular basis on topics that they are passionate about and strive to establish a working group, inclusive of them, to ensure we find a solution to the dire lack of youth facilities.
